  • Salah sends social media into meltdown after breaking Drogba’s record

Mohamed Salah sent Twitter into a frenzy after breaking Didier Drogba’s record against Manchester United to become the highest-scoring African in Premier League history.

Following his effort in Liverpool’s 5-0 thumping of Watford his last time out, the Egyptian matched the Chelsea great’s tally with his first goal at Old Trafford.

However, he smashed those figures following his hat-trick as the Reds smashed Manchester United 5-0 in front of their home fans.

  • Mohamed Salah scores for the tenth match in a row and breaks a 120-year-old record.

Mohamed Salah has become the most African player to score in a row in the English Premier League and the five major leagues after he surpassed Emmanuel Adebayor, who had previously scored in 9 games with Arsenal.

Mohamed Salah also became the only player in the history of Liverpool who was able to score in 10 consecutive matches.

According to the Opta global network, Mohamed Salah became the first player in the club’s history to score in the first 5 league matches outside Anfield during the season.

Mohamed Salah has become the first player in Liverpool history to score in three successive away games against Manchester United.

The Egyptian forward helped himself to a hat-trick at Old Trafford as the Reds put Man United to the sword, with Naby Keita and Diogo Jota also on the scoresheet in the 5-0 win.

Salah’s goals saw him send more records tumbling in a season that has now seen him net 10 times in nine Premier League games, and 15 times in 12 outings across all competitions

In addition to breaking a club record by scoring in three successive matches at Old Trafford, the 29-year-old also became the first opposing player in Premier League history to score an away hat-trick against Man United.

Salah has now scored in seven successive Premier League games – only Daniel Sturridge has had a longer scoring streak for Liverpool in the competition.

In all competitions, Salah’s scoring run stands at 10 games in a row, something only Cristiano Ronaldo, Duvan Zapata and Robert Lewandowski have managed in Europe’s top five leagues since Salah joined Liverpool in 2017-18.
